For our clients trading Sasol (SOL).

3-Day: Best Probability Forecast

Price is favored to encounter stiff resistance and range compression within the 23,300.00c – 23,700.00c corridor as buyers attempt to absorb trapped overhead liquidity. Given the proximity to multi-month highs, upward velocity is likely to taper, prompting short-term profit-taking. A failure to achieve a decisive daily close above 23,600.00c will likely initiate a corrective pullback toward the 22,700.00c – 22,900.00c retest shelf.

5-Day: Best Probability Forecast

Over the 5-day horizon, the market is poised to test whether this consolidation represents genuine high-level accumulation or an impending rejection. If buyers successfully defend the 22,500.00c – 22,700.00c support zone on a retracement, another aggressive attempt to clear the 23,800.00c peak becomes probable. Conversely, a daily close beneath 22,400.00c would confirm local exhaustion, opening the door for an extended mean-reverting decline toward the 21,800.00c – 22,000.00c baseline.

10-Day: Best Probability Forecast

Across the two-week macro horizon, the prevailing trend will be determined by the resolution of this major resistance test. A confirmed breakout and sustained multi-day acceptance above 24,000.00c would invalidate multi-month overhead supply, unlocking the next major expansion leg toward 25,500.00c – 26,000.00c. However, if institutional sellers reassert dominant distribution and price breaks below the 22,200.00c swing low, the market will complete a broader corrective cycle, rotating back down toward the 20,500.00c – 21,000.00c structural value band.

Risks of Entering a Buy/Long Position at Current Levels

  • Buying Directly into Major Overhead Structural Supply: Price is trading within striking distance of the formidable 23,500.00c – 24,000.00c multi-month ceiling, which triggered heavy liquidation during previous tests.

  • Poor Asymmetric Trade Location: Entering near the top of the range requires placing protective stops below the 22,200.00c swing low to avoid normal retest whipsaws, creating an unfavorable risk-to-reward ratio against immediate resistance.

  • Triple-Top Distribution Vulnerability: A failure to breach 23,800.00c with expanding volume risks forming a macro triple-top, leaving late breakout buyers exposed to an aggressive mean-reversion decline.

Risks of Entering a Sell/Short Position at Current Levels

  • Fighting Intact Primary Trend Momentum: The overarching macro trend from the June lows remains firmly bullish, characterized by a clean sequence of rising structural swing lows.

  • Breakout Acceleration & Squeeze Risk: A decisive daily close above 23,800.00c could trigger cascading stop runs from short-sellers hedging multi-month highs, sparking an explosive squeeze toward 25,000.00c.

  • Absence of a Confirmed Reversal Pattern: The daily timeframe has not yet printed an explicit reversal signal (such as a bearish engulfing bar or shooting star) to confirm that buyer initiative has terminated.
