The indicator is a custom-built sentiment index, designed to assess market risk appetite, including whether sentiment is at an extreme position (i.e. excessively bullish or excessively bearish). Components: Copper: Copper often serves as a proxy for global economic activity. A decline in copper prices could signal slowing economic growth, increasing risk. High Beta vs Low Beta: High beta stocks tend to be more volatile than low beta stocks. A widening spread between high and low beta returns might indicate increased risk aversion. Growth vs Value: Growth stocks typically outperform value stocks in bull markets. A shift towards value stocks could suggest investors are becoming more cautious. EM Currencies: Emerging market currencies can be sensitive to risk appetite. A weakening of EM currencies could signal increased risk aversion. AUD/USD: The Australian Dollar is often used as a proxy for global risk sentiment. A decline in AUD/USD could indicate increased risk aversion. Consumer Staples vs Consumer Discretionary: Consumer staples are generally considered defensive assets. A shift towards consumer staples could suggest investors are seeking safety. Semiconductors vs S&P 500: The semiconductor sector is cyclical and sensitive to economic downturns. Underperformance of semiconductors relative to the broader market could signal increased risk. Russell 2000 ETF: This ETF tracks small-cap stocks, which are generally considered riskier than large-cap stocks. Underperformance of the Russell 2000 could suggest increased risk aversion. U.S. Dollar Index (Inverse): A strengthening US Dollar often signals a flight to safety, suggesting increased risk aversion.

  • Gold Fields: Bearish Divergence (Caution)

Trade   Gold Fields   with Unum Capital. To get started, email   lester@unum.co.za RSI bearish divergence Previous Post (21 January) : How To Trade: Gold Fields (GFI) Analyst's Price Action Model as of 16h26 The Price Action Model, Explained: Overall Trend: The overall trend for GOLD FIELDS is Bullish. Current Trends: 7-Day Trend: High Bullish Momentum / Approaching Overbought 14-Day Trend: Very Bullish Short-Term Opportunity: There is a limited opportunity for a short-term buy/long position. The image cautions against chasing the highs and suggests that if the price doesn't hold above the 8-EMA, it could be a short-sell target. Medium-Term Outlook (2 to 4 weeks): The medium-term outlook is also Bullish, but it advises against chasing the price. It suggests looking for an overshoot or failure to hold prior session range highs as a potential short-sell opportunity back to the 8-EMA. Long-Term Outlook (5 to 8 weeks): The long-term outlook is also Bullish. The image suggests that if the price pulls back, it could be an opportunity to accumulate within a bullish regime. In Summary: GOLD FIELDS is currently in a strong bullish trend across all timeframes. However, the image advises caution against chasing the price and suggests looking for potential short-sell opportunities if the price fails to hold key levels. The long-term outlook remains bullish, with potential accumulation zones if the price pulls back. Analyst View: The share is in a high bullish regime while also approaching an overbought range. Short Term: price has rallied from ~R247 to ~R298. The share trades above it's rising 8-day EMA however, any further rally could see the share becoming extended versus it's rising 21-EMA which could place the share firmly in overbought range. The aforementioned would open the potential for a mean-reversion short/sell (ideally for ultra short term/active traders). Note: the share has retraced it's move from it's peak/trough and currently trades at the 61.8% Fibonacci range. Lester Davids Analyst: Unum Capital (Published at 17h28 on Tuesday, 21 January 2025)

BID Corp has given clients opportunity on both the long (buy) and short (sell) side. The share has retreated by over 9% since recently entering an overbought range close to R480, as mentioned on 31 January (see time-stamped comment/note below). The end of day price action model reading on 31 January also warned traders that aggressive buying was underway but that they should NOT chase/buy as there was a risk of a pullback (the time-stamped reading is shown below). After A 6000c Rebound, This Is The Next Key Level To Monitor.
