  • Trading Brent Crude Oil: Pullback In Line With Model Reading (-10%)

Trade Brent Crude Oil  with Unum Capital. To get started, email lester@unum.co.za No, I didn't call the exact top, but we recognized the poor upside reward-to-risk and potential for a pullback. Scroll down to see the model reading at the time: "Expect a minor retracement" Previous Post (Sunday 12 January): BRENT CRUDE OIL: 7-Week Bullish Reversal + Further Gains Pushes Commodity Near Short Term Overbought Analyst's Price Action Model What is the overall trend for Brent Crude Oil? The overall trend is bullish, but the market is currently nearing an overbought range. What is the short-term price action reading? Aggressive buying is underway, but the market is overbought on the lower time frame. Consolidation or a minor retracement is likely. What is the medium-term price action reading? Aggressive buying is underway, but traders should not chase the market higher. Look for an opportunity to short-sell back to the 8-EMA if there is an overshoot or failure to hold prior session range highs. What is the long-term price action reading? A strong attempt at a bullish reversal is expected following a consolidation phase. Previous Post: Strong price action over 2 weeks and a strong reversal in the 7 weeks since the 'Strategy Alert' (see below). • Nike: Running +14%

Trade Global Shares   with Unum Capital. To get started, email lester@unum.co.za 4-Month High + Running +14% Previous Post (18 January): Reviewing Nike, This Is What I See You've probably seen news around Nike's recent underperformance. You've probably also seen newer brands making waves in the athleisure community. Can I show you something different? Something which you may not have come across? An angle you may not have considered? The chart below is a ratio or relative chart of Nike compared to the S&P 500 Index which extends back 40 years to 1984. In the lower panel, the blue/red line represents the ratio's distance versus the 200-week simple moving average. At current levels, the extension is 54%, which is well below historical norms and in line with the extensions seen in March 2000 (also -54%) and October 1984 (-56%). These prior extensions represented coincided with a share price that had severely underperformed the S&P 500 Index however, subsequently reversed it's underperformance to develop a new bull trend. At current levels, the reward-to-risk appears appealing a for a buy/long position within a medium to long term portfolio. Let me know your thoughts. Lester Davids Analyst: Unum Capital

Trade African Rainbow Minerals  with Unum Capital. To get started, email lester@unum.co.za My comment a few days ago above R167 was: "short term traders, consider taking profits. It's R140 now!" Previous Post Running +9%. Edit: Closed the day very strong & now running +10% ARI Daily Chart as of end of day. If you are an ultra short term trader, then a move of this size could be an opportunity bank/take profit, however, for medium term traders, we could be in the early stages of a bigger move. Previous Post: African Rainbow Minerals: A +29% Rally; Now Short Term Overbought Wednesday, 02 October 2024 Time Published: Pre-Market (06h11) Ticker: ARI Significant rally off the swing lows of R155 to a high R201.98 during yesterday's session. Short term traders, take profit or trim some of your position. Previous Post: Wednesday, 13 September 2024. 11h55 The share has now rallied by R37, with a high of R192.64 today. Short term/active traders will use these advances to reduce exposure and potentially re-enter at lower levels. The high was also into my actionable trading zone (sell/reduce), pulling back to R187 on an intraday basis. This setup was discussed on Monday, 02 September. The chart is 'current' Pre-Market Ticker: ARI As per my report on Monday, 02 September (Active Trading Plan), the share is approaching key levels i.e. the previous breakout range and the previous swing lows. Also note the following, yesterday we saw a 'doji' candle being printed, which may be early clues of a slowdown in downward momentum. Note: Event risk in the form of earnings at present (Friday, 06 September). The slide from my report is shown below. Lester Davids Analyst: Unum Capital

  • Trade Idea: Buy AVI Ltd

Trade the AVI  with Unum Capital. To get started, email lester@unum.co.za For clarity, the following is the text on chart below: This trade idea is linked to the previous note on AVI (Trading AVI: Long/Short, Thursday 06 February 2025). Thesis: HIGH RISK BUY IDEA therefore small-than-average position sizes may apply.  The share has been sold off aggressively and is in a high bearish momentum regime while also approaching an oversold range. I do NOT think that THIS is the exact low (i.e. I am expecting lower levels) however, this may be a RANGE to starting building a buy/long position with the expectation that a base starts to form over the near term followed by a potential bullish reversal. Buy at current levels or lower (traders could consider starting with a 1/3 of the position). In terms of probabilities, it's possible that the share could trade down to the 8700c range (this is NOT a prediction, but merely a probability based on candle structure, momentum etc.). Note the 8700c level coincides with the unfilled gap which was created on 18 June. As always, traders could consider the following if/when the prices approaches the target: bank/take profit, partially scale out, adjust the stop-loss to protect profits. Note: Event risk in the form of earnings are expected on 10 March. Time stop: 11 July 2025. Trading Levels:   Consider 9040 down to 8840c as a range Based on the above, use a stop-loss of 8350c. Target: 10200c Last Close: 9202c   Chart as above (enlarged): This share has given traders opportunities on both the long (buy) and short (sell) side, both of which we have discussed. We called the overbought conditions pre-market on 11 November. This was the same day which it peaked at 12500c. A few days before that (06 Nov), the time-stamped price action model alerted us to expect a retracement/pullback (scrolls further down to see). As of yesterday's close, this is worth noting: Approaching prior swing lows Has ALREADY experienced an aggressive short term sell-off, which appears to be near the tail end. The model is alerting that the reward-to-risk is becoming attractive for a small buy/long position however, we should wait for the lower time frames to stabilize. I am expecting: (1) the share to trade lower , but to potential reclaim the prior session or range lows, build a base, then develop a short term bullish reversal. As of yesterday's close, this is what the model said: Previous Post: AVI LTD Strong Rejection At Multi-Year Swing Highs. Well Done, Short Sellers This is an updated chart which reflects the price reaching the pre-determined sell range (R123), which was followed by a strong bearish rejection down to R102. Well done, short sellers. Previous Post: AVI Ltd: Bull Flag Target Exceeded, Now Approaching Overbought On Weekly Monday 11 November 2024 Time Published: Pre-Market Chart as a of after Friday's close. PENDING SELL IDEA. Potential for an upside 'overshoot' and retracement. Previous Discussed as a 'Premium Post' AVI was highlighted to Unum Capital clients as a buy idea in July 2023 at R65. Now, just 15 months later, it is trading over R113.

Previous Post: (28 January): Trading Truworths September 2024 Reference + Current Chart Below Previous Post: Retailers: Selling Off In Line With The Model Readings This is the 2nd update on the original post. For the previous posts, please scroll down. In the original post, I highlighted the real-time reading from the Tactical Trading Guide. It alerted clients about a poor reward-to-risk on the buy/long side . Since then, performance has been as follows: TFG down from R158 to R146 (recent low) TRU down from R109 to R98 (recent low) MRP rallied to 272 then traded down to 253 (recent low) CLS was at R399, then sold off sharply down to R360. SHP (see insert below) was a setup which clients were well prepared for . The idea was to look for a print ABOVE R314, followed by a pullback. The price traded above R314 and retreated to reach a low of R278 during yesterday's trading session. Well done to clients who have been correctly positioned to take advantage of these moves. Previous Post: Retailers: Unwinding From Overbought Thursday, 03 October 2024 Time Published: 12h29 The Tactical Trading Guide has been very useful in assessing reward-to-risk. • Yield Down, Price Up. Well Done Bond Buyers

Trade Fixed Income ETFs  with Unum Capital. To get started, email lester@unum.co.za The move lower in bond yields is in line with our previous view (driven by the model/Tactical Trading Guide) that yields had become overbought in the short and medium term and that a risk of a bearish reversal was possible. Previous Post: U.S. 10-YEAR BOND YIELD Bullish Momentum However, Approaching Short Term Overbought (08 January 2025) Overall Summary The image presents a price action analysis for the US 10-Year Bond Yield, focusing on three timeframes: Short Term (1-10 days), Medium Term (2-4 weeks), and Long Term (5-8 weeks). Key Observations 7-Day Trend: High Bullish Momentum, Approaching Overbought 14-Day Trend: Very Bullish Short Term (1-10 days): Price Action Reading: Very Strong Move, Buyers in Control, but Don't Chase - May Fail to Hold the Highs; If it doesn't hold, the 8-EMA may be a short-sell target. Medium Term (2-4 weeks): Price Action Reading: Aggressive Buying but Do Not Chase - Look for Overshoot or Failure to Hold Prior Session Highs to Short-Sell Back to the 8-EMA. Long Term (5-8 weeks): Price Action Reading: Attempting to Advance Whilst in a Bullish Regime - If it Pulls Back, Use Prior Session Close or 8-EMA as an Accumulation Zone. Interpretation Bullish Momentum: The price of the US 10-Year Bond Yield has been rising strongly in the short term. Caution: The momentum is approaching overbought territory, suggesting a potential reversal. Trading Strategy: Short-term traders: Be cautious of chasing the price higher. Look for signs of weakness (like a failure to hold recent highs) to potentially short-sell. Medium-term traders: Avoid chasing aggressive buying. Look for opportunities to short-sell if the price overshoots or fails to hold prior session highs. Long-term traders: Maintain a bullish bias. If the price pulls back, consider accumulating (buying) near the prior session close or the 8-EMA support level. Lester Davids Analyst: Unum Capital
